ECaBox Consortium at the second annual meeting in Porto

The ECaBox consortium gathered for their second in-person meeting in Porto, Portugal, from June 5th to June 7th, 2023.

During the first day, the agenda was packed with updates and discussions, covering various aspects of the project. The consortium members shared progress on the different research work packages, showcasing exciting developments and addressing any questions and concerns that arose.

In addition to the intensive work sessions, the consortium made time for an engaging visit to the A4TEC/3B’s facilities in Avepark, Guimarães.

The second day began with the keynote talk delivered by Prof. Peter Hitchcock (University of Michigan), an esteemed member of ECaBox Scientific Advisory Board and expert in regenerative neurogenesis.

The meeting progressed with a focus on exploitation strategies, data management revision, and dissemination efforts. The gathering concluded with remarks from CRG’s Prof. Pia Cosma (project coordinator) and A4TEC’s Prof. Rui L. Reis (host).

To celebrate their productive time together, the partners enjoyed a city sightseeing tour and a delightful 6 Bridges Cruise along the picturesque Douro River allowed the participants to immerse themselves in the local culture while strengthening their connections outside of the formal meeting setting.

As the meeting came to a close, the consortium left Porto with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation, eagerly looking forward to their next gathering in another beautiful city. The engaging discussions, collaborative spirit, and enjoyable activities during their time in Porto laid the groundwork for future successes in the ECaBox project!
