Project Insights at EMBL’s 50th Anniversary

Today, Pia Cosma, coordinator of the ECaBox project, delivered an insightful talk at the EMBL’s 50th-anniversary celebration in Barcelona. Her presentation, titled “Life Beyond the Body: Strategies for Sustaining Neural Tissue,” explored advances in retinal regeneration that have paved the way for the ECaBox project.

Pia focussed on the potential of regenerative technologies to restore vision, offering an overview of how these strategies could keep retinal cells alive outside the body, providing a foundation for future therapies for vision impairment.

In addition to her recent presentation, Pia was featured in El Periódico this August, where she shared more on her work in the field of vision restoration and the transformative goals of the ECaBox project.
